Member, Central Excise is the authorized officer to stop monthly payment of duty
The CBEC has notified the Member, Central Excise as the officer competent to issue orders for consignment wise payment of duty, freezing of cenvat credit etc, for delinquent assessees as per the recently introduced Rule 12CC of Central Excise Rules and 12AA of Cenvat Credit Rules.
