Revenue Chair in National Law School

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and Department of Revenue (DoR) for instituting endowment chair in NLSIU, Bengaluru on 29th March, 2016. This agreement was entered on behalf of NLSIU by Prof R. Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, NLSIU and by Mr.Najib Shah, Chairman, CBEC on behalf of DoR. This chair will initially be for a period of 10 years.

Scope of the MoU

a) To consistently engage in research in all mutually agreed areas of law. The main aim of research will be with special emphasis on strengthening the working capacity of DoR in areas of legal and policy research, mutually agreed upon;

b) To build and maintain an updated knowledge data-base in all related areas of law for the use of DoR;

c) To act as ‘think tank' for the DoR.
