Chidambaram, Shome, Monica in Global Tax 50
INDIA's Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, IRS Officer Monica Bhatia, Parthasarathi Shome and WCO Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya figure in the International Tax Review's Global Tax Top 50 for 2012. The list includes the President of Chile, the President of France, Australia's Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer, Mauritius' Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the US Senate Finance Committee, etc.
MONICA BHATIA is an IRS officer from India's CBDT, currently with OECD. (Please see -05.03.2012). In her 21 years of experience in the Indian Revenue Service, she says she has played different roles; that of a tax auditor, of a DR in the Tribunal, a policy maker, a negotiator of tax treaties and an official in the Exchange of Information Unit.
