Ad Valorem Excise Duties for Gold and Silver
GOLD bars which hitherto attracted an excise duty of Rs. 200 per 10 gms will now be charged duty at the rate of 1.5% and gold bars manufactured during the process of copper smelting which attracted a duty of Rs. 300 per 10 gms will now be charged 2% duty. Silver at Rs. 1500 per kg hitherto will now suffer 6% duty.

GOLD manufactured in EOU/EHTP/STP: Gold jewellery which was charged Rs. 750 per 10 gms will now attract 5% ad valorem and Silver jewellery which was charged Rs. 1000 per kg will now be charged 6% ad valorem.
