Advance Ruling – Extended to Indians
In DDT 143 on 24-06-2005, DDT made a fervent appeal to make advance ruling applicable to Indians, under the caption “Andolan for Swadeshi Advance Ruling”. Now we are extremely happy to report that the government has conceded advance ruling even for the Indians though in a very limited sense applicable to the Singapore imports under the recently notified rules of origin. Now a resident Indian proposing to import from Singapore under the new scheme can seek advance ruling on determination of origin of goods and related matters. DDT congratulates the government on this great concession given to the citizens of this country and requests the government to consider the possibility of extending the facility of advance ruling on all matters in Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax.
