Legal Metrology Act comes into force from today in Central Excise Act
SIMILARLY Section 62 of the Finance Act 2011, stipulated substitution of the words "Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1976" with "Legal Metrology Act, 2009" in sub-section (1) of Section 4A of the Central Excise Act with effect from a date to be notified by the Government. Now the Government has notified 1st day of August 2011 as the date for this amendment to come into force.
