ITAT and CESTAT Members can now become CBDT/CBEC Members
The Revenue Department has invited applications for the posts of Members in the CBDT and CBEC.
Officers of the Central Government appointed on a regular basis in the Grade of Rs. 22,400-24,500/- (pre-revised scale); (Revised scale Pay Band 4 - Rs.37400 - 67000 with grade pay of Rs.12,000 /- )
and possessing the following essential qualifications :-
(a) Having at least 15 years of experience
(b) Having high professional merit and excellence; and
(c) Having impeccable reputation of integrity
are eligible to apply.
The letter is also sent to President, ITAT/CESTAT with a request to circulate this amongst all Members of ITAT/CESTAT to enable them to send their applications. So now CESTAT/ITAT may be a good route to join the Board, but if you join the Board, you have to retire at 60 instead of 62 in the Tribunal – Choose your option.
