Service Tax Revenue up by 40% in the first month of new fiscal
The Revenue from Service Tax for April 2008 is up from 4352 Crores to 6093 Crores – an increase of 40% compared to the same period last year.
The Revenue from Customs and Excise in the months of April and May, 2008 is 35216 Crores compared to 31217 Crores last year during the same period. Customs Revenue is up by 25.1% while Excise showed a modest 0.9% increase.
