Import of pulses – any port is permitted
By Notification No. 57/2006 dated 8.6.2006, Pulses, when imported through customs ports having capacity to handle bulk imports was exempted and immediately a netizen asked us which those ports are. We could not of course reply and could only request the government to announce the list of such ports.
Now the good government has deleted the condition of import through ports capable of bulk imports. The confusion is over. Pulses can be imported through any port and there is no duty. Thanks to the Board!
