Google liable to ST for ads
The other day Bill Gates speaking in New Delhi had said that Google search was not really free as they were making a huge packet from advertisements and he suggested that Google should give back part of its ad revenue to users. Maybe one day you can see Windows opening with a Pepsi ad and then Windows will be free. But coming back to Google, they have just tied up with AOL for garnering better ad revenue. Whether they share the booty or not, they are liable to pay Service Tax on the advertisements as recently ruled by the Authority for Advance Rulings recently.
