DGCEI arrests Goa manufacturer

Officers of the Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence, Zonal Unit, Mumbai today arrested the partner of a Goa factory on a charge of evasion of Central Excise duty amounting to Rs 3.5 crore. The unit is alleged to have fraudulently availed CENVAT credit. The accused was remanded to 14 days judicial custody by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Esplanado Court, Mumbai for further investigations in the matter.
