3500 Show Cause Notices pending in a Commissionerate!
A senior officer told us that in a Commissionerate, 3500 Show Cause Notices are pending adjudication. As per the Board's norms, a Commissioner is required to adjudicate 10 cases in a month. If he is a hard-core follower of Board's instructions, it will take him about 30 years to clear these Show Cause Notices and the inflow is another 150 per month. When will they clear the pendency?
