CBEC Needs a Director each for Drawback and Service Tax
THE Revenue Headquarters urgently requires a Director for Drawback and one for Service Tax. Chief Commissioners have been requested to send the applications of willing and eligible officers latest by 10.01.2013.
Of late, the Board is finding it extremely difficult to get willing, eligible and capable officers to work in the Board and the Revenue Department.
DDT had been witness to several Board Members and even the CBEC Chairman complaining that they do not have enough staff. It is tragic that they do not have enough officers to work in the Board. Any IRS officer should feel proud to work in the Apex Board - is it not an honour to be at the highest decision making body? But then, the frills in the field are too attractive to be sacrificed for a thankless job in the Board.
