US Firm Bribed CESTAT Judge!!!!
THE Indian Express reported on Friday that CBI has started probing allegations of bribe paid by a US Company to a judge of the CESTAT. The Houston based US firm is alleged to have paid a bribe of 500,000 US Dollars for getting a favourable order to the tune of 10 Million Dollars. The benefit in Indian rupees is about 40 Crores and the bribe is about 2 Crores, which works out to about 5%, which seems to be quite reasonable. The US company was already indicted in USA for bribing government officials in India, Venezuela and Mexico.
