Excise collections poor in the first two months- wait for the backlash

In spite of a 10% increase in industrial production, excise duty for the first two months of the year has shown only a marginal increase of 1%. And this time the department is not going to wait till March to mop up revenue. So there will be more audit checks, more preventive visits, more special cenvat checks and the whole works from July itself.
