CJI to inaugurate National Seminar on 'Fighting Crimes related to Corruption'
Chief Justice of India, Mr. K.G. Balakrishnan will inaugurate a two days National Seminar on Fighting Crimes related to Corruption tomorrow. This Seminar aims to provide a platform for interaction among the functionaries of Criminal Justice System dealing with cases of Corruption.
The National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences (NICFS) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are jointly taking this innovative and novel initiative.
Judges of the Supreme Court, High Court of Delhi and distinguished legal luminaries including over 60 Special Judges dealing with anti-corruption cases from the entire country are expected to participate in the Seminar. Prosecutors as well as Investigators and 100 CBI/State ACB officers are also going to participate in the deliberations.
Four Working Sessions will be dedicated to issues of contemporary legal significance as:-
Session-I : Facilitating Speedy Trial
Session-II : Investigation and Trial of Anti-Corruption Cases: Legal Lacunae & other Constraints.
Session-III : How to Improve Presentation/Prosecution of cases by CBI.
Session-IV : Appreciating and Evaluating Electronic Evidence

Regarding your DDT today on the requirement of licence (ref 7/2009 dt 8.9.09) for import of electrical energy. The question is whether licence is required in the following situations
1. Sale of power by SEZ developer to units within the SEZ. (Please note purchase from another unit is treated as Import under SEZ Act)
2. Sale of power by SEZ developer to DTA?
3. Sale of power by EOU to DTA (deemed import)?
Foreign trade Act defines import as bringing goods into India .
Hence the notification is not as simple as it is thought to be. Please recall controversy on the export duty imposed on steel supply to SEZ?
