Anti Dumping duty on NTCF
Anti Dumping duty is imposed on Nylon Tyre Cord Fabric (NTCF) originating in or exported from Peoples Republic of China. A provisional anti dumping duty on this product was imposed by Notification No. 72/2004-Customs, dated the 26th July 2004. This notification expired on 25th January 2005. Now the Government has imposed the duty with effect from the date of imposition of the provisional duty that is 26.7.2004. In January this year immediately after the provisional antidumping duty lapsed, the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA) had approached the Rajasthan High Court over certain contentious issue on the disclosure statement. The High Court had given stay for a month. The domestic tyre industry imports about 12,000 tonnes of NTCF annually from China.
