Now these forms should include <b>Acknowledgement Nos. of all quarterly statements of TDS under sub-section (3) of section 200 as provided by TIN Facilitation Centre or NSDL web-site</b>. </font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">TDS deductors, be careful - as we reported yesterday TDS violations can land you in jail.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><u><a href="http://www.taxindiaonline.com/RC2/subCatDesc.php3?subCatDisp_Id=35&filename=notification/cbdt/2007/it07not083.htm" target="_blank">Income Tax Notification no. 83/2007, dated 26-3-2007</a></u></font></p> <p align=center><font color="#006600" size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Anti duping duty on Hydrofluoric acid - extended</b></font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">The anti dumping duty on Hydrofluoric acid, originating in, or exported from, the People's Republic of China, was imposed vide notification No.10/2003-Customs, dated the 15th January, 2003 with effect from 28.2.2002 and was to expire on 28.2.2007. Now on he recommendationsof the Designated Authority, extended the duty for another year till 27.2.2008.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><u><a href="http://www.taxindiaonline.com/RC2/subCatDesc.php3?subCatDisp_Id=23&filename=notification/custom/2007/ctariff07_045.htm" target="_blank">Notification No. 45/2007-Cus., Dated : March 26, 2007</a></u></font></p> <p align=center><font color="#006600" size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Anti duping duty on Pentaerythritol - also extended</b></font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Similarly the anti dumping duty on Pentaerythritol, originating in, or exported from, <st1:country-region w:st="on">Taiwan</st1:country-region> and <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region>, imposed vide Notification No.119/2002-Customs, dated the 31st October, 2002 with effect from 27.2.2002 and would have expired on 27.2.2007 and is now extended for another year till 26.2.2008. But that was too close! Notifications 18 and 19/2007-NT-Customs, dated the 23<sup>rd</sup> February, 2007 are superseded.</font></p> <p align=center><font color="#006600" size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Offence - 'any person' includes Customs officer</b></font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">In a landmark judgement, the Delhi High Court has held that a Customs officer can be arrested and is liable for punishment under Section 135 of the Act. The plea that 'any person' referred to in Section 135 did not include a Customs officer as he is specifically covered under Section 136 did not find favour with the High Court.
